2015: A Year in Reflection

There is no question that the end of the year is upon us. For many, it means time for reflection and looking ahead. 2015 has been a year filled with triumph and tragedy around the world, as evidenced both by the election of the first woman president in Nepal and the number of migrants fleeing crises in the Middle East and North Africa reaching unprecedented heights. The globe has been ravaged with crisis after crisis, varying from natural disasters to civil conflicts to epidemics and more. In the face of these challenges, it might seem simple to throw up our hands in despair, desensitize ourselves from these occurrences, and plod through. Watching our world engulfed in violent flames may leave us feeling like we cannot do much else. What we must not forget, however, is that from the ashes, we rise.
